Two of the coolest and most unique wedding venues are the Lyons River Bend and the Lyons Farmette and both happened to be own by the same people. It’s truly a treat to photograph weddings at either venue and while the River Bend may be lacking in the Alpaca and Airstream department it’s got the benefit of also being the location of the WeeCasa tiny home hotel.
When Lindy and Tom told me they were getting married at the River Bend I was giddy with excitement because I knew it was going to be pretty awesome. There were so many cool things going on with this wedding that it’s going to be next to impossible to do it justice with words. We started our day with some bridesmaids getting ready in the hobbit house themed tiny home that featured a mini bilbo in the circular hobbit sized window. This alone makes the venue pretty top notch. The bridal tent suite was awesome. The flowers from the Farmette were awesome. The giant balloons were awesome. The food from Sugar Pine Catering was awesome. This was and probably always will be the only wedding where a chef has announced the menu to a crowd ovation. The only thing that wasn’t awesome was the weather but fortunately the storm that threatened us all morning mostly blew over.
Most important of all though, Tom and Lindy are awesome. Their origin story involves sharing a return Southwest flight while hung over after they both attended two different weddings in the same city and immediately bonded over the next few hours. I had such an awesome time at this one.
