Back in August Elissa and I had the pleasure of spending the afternoon with newly minted Colorado residents Lauren and Al up at Echo Lake. It was a chilly day up at 10,000 feet and for most of the afternoon it was nothing but clouds. Not even the cool, super dramatic clouds, but the ones that feel like a gray blanket of blandness. It was no problem though, because Lauren, Al and their pup Datsyuk were amazing enough as it was.
Fortunately for us, just before we called it quits we had stopped for a moment at the base of Mt. Evans and happened to catch the sky opening up over Echo Lake just long enough for a golden sunset on the water. It was a truly amazing evening and as always I had an amazing time.
